EGYPT: Is it the Virgin Mary or just a curious flash of light?

The faithful say she comes in a flash of light amid a swirl of pigeons.

Hundreds, if not thousands, have been lining up for hours every night at the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in a Cairo neighborhood just off the Nile. Many of them claim that a mysterious light hovering above the church’s domes is an apparition of the Virgin Mary who will bring Christian Copts prosperity and relief in a time of national and religious struggle.

The crowds began appearing Thursday evening when a number of residents spotted a flickering light. No one was sure where the illumination was coming from, and word quickly spread that the light took the shape of the Virgin Mary wearing a blue gown and standing in the sky between the church’s two high crosses.

I don’t know anything about these apparitions–sorry, but i don’t trust the secular media.

However, the Theotokos DID appear in Zeitun, Egypt, at the church built at the site where the Holy Family lived during the flight into Egypt. This was in the late '60’s, early '70’s.

The Coptic Orthodox, Greek (Chalcedonian Orthodox), and Coptic Catholic all accept these apparitions as true, and inscribed them in their respective calendars.

One of the things that happened at these were thousands of Moslems being baptized at peril of their lives. She was seen by everybody: sometimes with the Divine Infant, sometimes with St. Joseph, too, and sometimes by herself.

If these are truly visions of the Theotokos, we shall see similar fruits, don’t you think?

I don’t know if it is anything at all, but Zeitoun was amazing…I can recall when a tiny blip about it was told on the news and the anchor sort of smirked as he told about it

I don’t know anything about pigeons the Zeitoun apparitions showed doves…if there are now showing pigeons I am not sure what that could be about

I should add I heard a report Mary was surrounded by pigeons…I must say the light in this clips look very like the images of Zeitoun

Watch the first video and stop it at time 4:32. You will see the “apparition” go out and the fading afterglow of a light fixture directly behind it. Doesn’t it strike you odd the apparition always stays fixed right where the light is on behind it, then it goes away just as the light is turned off?

You can see in the second video the same yellow glow when the dome top lights are on. Why the blue part of the glow? Could be a lens on the light fixture or the type gas used in the bulb.

I do see the blue but I don’t know what the Zeitoun images looked like in color…I think it was only filmed in black and white…If there were any color images I never saw them
