how can a sacrifice be a sacrifice when you know you can bring back the sacrificed to life after 3 days ?
Because human beings have an instinctual fear of death, that’s why. And Christ’s words on the cross–“My lord, why has thou forsaken me?”–show that all understanding or perception of what lay beyond death was denied Christ at that time. His emotional grasp of what lay ahead was as closed-off and darkened for him at that moment as it is for anybody else. Death is a scary proposition for any human. Anybody who says it isn’t scary to him is lying.

Christ, partaking fully of human nature, had to face that, too. The resurrection seemed as far off and remote and unreal to him at that moment as it ever has to anybody.

I have found that Christianity is nothing but a Charity council in present days
( my apologies, but this is the reality).

They are desperate to prove Muslims as their brother, while Muslims hate them from their heart. And this ultra charity from Christians will the the cause of the fall of this religion.

Now only Atheist and non religious peoples are the great fighter against the Islamic terrorists. because always sword is greater than pen, if you want to fight against this cult my friend.

And current version of Christianity ( every denomination I think) is too weak to survive against Islamic threat, because except their faith they do not use anything, and love always do not brings love, but sometimes this arrogant thoughts can make a free nation to slave to another nation. In this cruel world, super soft peoples will not survive, for sure.

forget about Jews, Muslims never consider Judaism as the actual threat to them because, Jews are very few in numbers. since the beginning Christianity was the major threat to them. But Christian rulers were fool enough to understand the diplomacy of Muslim Rulers since the Caliphet era, so Christians lost most of lands in middle east.

Islam actually raised under the shade of Christianity. So I blame Christianity and it’s way of charity because of the successful establishment of Islam & now Christianity is supporting it spiritually. But soon they will suffer because of it, i can bet. Christianity is going to face the highest class of threat, from Islam, i can bet.Lets see in what way Christianity can survive against the threat.for sure it will not survive with it’s reputed side, charity, because charity is not always healthy.

When atheists try to do anything against Islamic faith, always Christians become the friends of Muslim to protest them.Christian should take atheists as their true friend, not the Muslims.

anyway Sam, peace and blessing to you.Always keep safe, this is my wishes for you from my heart. I admire your courage that you dare to write against Islam, from Saudi Arabia.

But i can do nothing, except sending my good wishes to you against the green-eyed monster.
I can appreciate that you have your own share of courage in writing against Islam, rain bow.

BUT, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that war with Islam is the only answer, and it won’t end until we kill every last Muslim.

I can believe that someday, there may be armed conflict between Islam and the west. There are numerous privately-received prophecies (received by Catholics) that predict this, and also that the insincere and non-committed among the Christians will fall away and apostatize. But they also prophesize victory for Christendom in the end, like at the naval battle of Lepanto, when a Catholic king triumphed against the Turks, and against Protestant aggressors on other fronts.

I believe there will be conflict some day, but it won’t have to end in genocide against Muslims. At that point, what is left of Islam will collapse like a house of cards, and Muslims will embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our own Gospel says the gates of hell itself will not prevail against the Church. Every true Christian believes and draws hope from this.

The first verse mentions the option of Jizya. Which is a tax paid by non Muslims. It is obligated on able well bodied men who are able to work. Therefore it is not right to say that it is Islam or death.

The second & the third verses are related to the time of war Islam had with its armed enemies in Arabia.

If it was Islam or die… there would be zero Christians in the middle east long time ago.
Hi Meedo,

I don’t think that’s true. Don’t forget the Arab Islamic Conquests after the death of Prophet Muhammad. Although much Christian ground was lost, the resilience of the Christians (in particular the Maronites in the region of Lebanon) held out against such attacks.

A fact of history if you read the letters sent to delegates and the early churches during the time of the first Califs they first invited to embrace Islam but refusal was met with the sword. Its just a fact of Islamic history.

*(Quran 47:4):
“Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; at length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah’s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost.”

Its even more interesting when you read the Hadith about some of the Surahs. Here’s the explanation behind Surah 47:4 on qtafsir.com.

The Command to strike the Enemies’ Necks, tighten Their Bonds, and then free Them either by an Act o

Guiding the believers to what they should employ in their fights against the idolators, Allah says,

(So, when you meet those who disbelieve (in battle), smite their necks) which means, `when you fight against them, cut them down totally with your swords.’

(until you have fully defeated them,) meaning, `you have killed and utterly destroyed them.’

(tighten their bonds.) `This is referring to the prisoners of war whom you have captured. Later on, after the war ends and the conflict has ceased, you have a choice in regard to the captives: You may either act graciously toward them by setting them free without charge, or free them for a ransom that you require from them.’ It appears that this Ayah was revealed after the battle of Badr. At that time, Allah reproached the believers for sparing many of the enemy’s soldiers, and holding too many captives in order to take ransom from them. So He said then:

(It is not for a Prophet to have captives of war until he had made a great slaughter (among the enemies) in the land. You desire the commodities of this world, but Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. Allah is Mighty and Wise. Were it not for a prior decree from Allah, a severe torment would have touched you for what you took.) (8:67-68) Allah’s saying,

(…until the war lays down its burden.) Mujahid said: "Until `Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) descends.’’ It seems as if he derived this opinion from the Prophet’s saying,

«لَا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ حَتْى يُقَاتِلَ آخِرُهُمُ الدَّجَّال»

(There will always be a group of my Ummah victorious upon the truth, until the last of them fight against Ad-Dajjal.) Imam Ahmad recorded from Jubayr bin Nufayr who reported from Salamah bin Nufayl that he went to the Messenger of Allah and said, "I have let my horse go, and thrown down my weapon, for the war has ended. There is no more fighting.’’ Then the Prophet said to him,

(Now the time of fighting has come. There will always be a group of my Ummah dominant over others. Allah will turn the hearts of some people away (from the truth), so they (that group) will fight against them, and Allah will bestow on them (war spoils) from them (the enemies) – until Allah’s command comes to pass while they are in that state. Verily, the center of the believers’ abode is Ash-Sham. And goodness is tied around the horses’ foreheads till the Day of Resurrection.) An-Nasa’i also recorded this narration. Allah then says,

(Thus, and had Allah so willed, He could have taken vengeance against them;) which means that had He so willed, He could have taken immediate vengeance against the disbelievers with a chastisement or exemplary punishment directly from Him.

(but (He lets you struggle) so as to test with one another.) meaning, He has ordered Jihad and fighting against the enemies in order to try you and test your affairs. Allah also expresses His wisdom by the legislation of Jihad in the following two Surahs, Al `Iman and At-Tawbah, in which He says,

(Or did you think that you would enter the Paradise before Allah had made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast) (3:142)

(Fight them; Allah will then punish them by your hands, disgrace them, grant you victory over them, satisfy the breasts of a believing people, and remove the fury of their (the believers’) hearts. Allah turns in forgiveness to whom He wills; Allah is Knowing and Wise.) ( 9:14-15)

You could say that this is an experience. But not a sacrifice. A sacrifice means you give up something. You leave yourself in the hand of the unknown . But if he knows that he is going to be with God in 3 days ( and he is God himself) then i would call what he went throught an experience.

Besides… if he was tortured and died as a human… then how can that match the millions who suffered more horrible deaths before and after him? There are any that died much more horribly for causes they believed in. They didn’t have a guarantee they will be resurrected in 3 days .

My opinion any way

Meedo…

Christianity is the only religion where God meets man, because he cannot save himself or improve his lot, in the New Adam, Christ. That is why Christ called Himself the Son of Man…He is God, Christ is the mind of God through which the carnal universe is made.

The Holy Trinity is the meaning of God as Divine Love, Whose nature is relationship.
In essence, Holy Trinity is communion. How do we show our life in the Holy Trinity in this world?

And through Christ and Holy Communion we enter into the life now with the Holy Trinity…as sons and daughters of Father God.

By being extensions of Christ in the world becoming servants of those in need and spreading joy and love, being nurtured by Christ Himself in Holy Communion, and growing each day to become more Christ like.

Finally, the Holy Spirit reveals Himself to us in how we live out His gifts among us as Church----fear of the Lord, wisdom, counsel, fortitude, piety, knowledge, understanding. These are the actions of the Holy Spirit that have nothing to do with war and destruction.

The beginning of Christ’s ministry began at His baptism at the River Jordan. A historical theophany happened. God overshadowed Christ and said ‘This is my Beloved Son with Whom I am well pleased’, as the Holy Spirit represented in the dove, hovered above Christ.

Christ’s Transfiguration was the beginning of His divine ministry that was fulfilled with His ascension into heaven. Christ separated Himself from the Apostles because He is God. And He told them at His passion, that He always prayed believers would be one so that the world would believe.

Christ is the Human Face of God. And the Old Testament speaks of the man of suffering, of dying on a tree (cross) as ransom for our sin. Look at the religious and ritual practices of the Jewish people prior to the destruction of their sacred temple…the sacrificial use of goats and lambs, or the sending of goats out into the desert as a sign of taking away their sins. Of course, no animal can make up for human sin. Christ fulfilled the Old Testament.

When time was fulfilled, then Christ came into the world. That means that now the world was ready to receive Him. Subsequently, Christ alone is the fulfillment of prophecy, of kingship, of the long awaited Messiah.

Sin is separation from God, and only God can forgive this sin. Nothing we can do on our own can please God except Christ Himself. The son of Isaac was about to be sacrificed by Abraham, but an angel stopped him…but the sacrifice eventually came through the Father.

In Genesis, God points out the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, forbidden fruit…that Satan used to seduce man to think he is like the ‘gods’. Only God alone decides who lives and who dies. God also pointed out the trees the first couple could eat, but named only one, the Tree of Life.

People play god when they decide who lives or dies, who commits or sanctions abortions, the killing of innocent people. What is truly evil is killing other human beings in the name of God Who gave us life and blessing.

The Tree of Life is Christ. That is the only allowed tree named of all the fruit the first couple could eat. God here was already revealing the coming of the Savior and His Eucharist, His divine, physical presence in the world.

Jesus Christ in the Eucharist is truly His body, blood, soul, and divinity. And when people come into destroy the tabernacle, they are committing the most profound sacrilege. Priests and believers lay down their lives to protect the presence of God in our churches. And likewise, we respect the faith of other people in their places of worship.

Only in Christianity do we find renewal, our sins forgiven, a kingdom based on love and peace and seeking reason and education, recognizing the presence of Christ before the heart of all humanity.

We follow Christ in our daily walk, in our nourishment of His Eucharist. Those who persevere in the Cross will be saved. On the last day, the faithful ones will be resurrected and Christ will make a new heaven and new earth.

Christ said blessed are the poor in spirit, those who seek peace, those who thirst for justice…and he also said, those who live by the sword shall die by the sword.

The God we believe in is LOVE, His greatest attribute, and proven by giving us His only Son…

The great No’s of mankind are no longer the forbidden fruit in the old Garden of Eden. The forbidden fruit for modern man is PRIDE, POWER, GREED. And those who bear bad fruit throughout their life will be judged by Christ Himself.

True religion is about God, about redemption, redeeming, helping us become better, through the life and resurrection of the Lord. If we follow Him and are faithful to Him, our walk will continue and we will be resurrected on the final day, our great reward God Himself and all our loved ones, and many, many, many new friends.
