Either Catholicism is true, OR... Aliens

That is false. That the Bible is limited has been condemned. The modern (over the last 50 years) UFO phenomena has a lot of good science behind it, but that has been buried under layers and layers of nonsense. The general public doesn’t bother with it because ridicule or outright dismissal is what they’ve gotten. This is not about “our ancestors.” This is about something that has been studied by qualified observers and relevant others. The material is there but is not accepted. Besides, too many in the public don’t want to take or feel the need to take the time to look into it. UFOs do not defy the laws of physics, for one thing.

There is zero evidence for aliens of any kind. Certainly not humanoids. God exists.

The existence of an intelligent First Cause, I believe, can be found in philosophical arguments and are strongly confirmed by science as well (though not proven by science, since God is outside the domain of scientific inquiry).

So say extra-terrestrials even planted life on our planet… That doesn’t get rid of God at all, per se. Although Christian revelation could be totally thrown out the window.

Remember that I don’t think the existence of aliens in itself disproves or contradicts Christianity. Rather, I worry with the notion that supernatural phenomena – plenty in the Catholic Church – as well as religion could be based on the mingling of extra terrestrials.

ALSO one important point. Much of this would be silly if it were’t for the pop culture and constant references to UFOs and alien abductions and so on. I have not studied it myself too much, but its a general impression that informs the idea that we could really be visited by aliens and so on.

Sorry, it’s been tempting for me to give this as an example, so I’m going to go ahead and do so.

Remember the Miracle of the Sun associated with Fatima? The thousands saw the sun moving and “dancing.” Some may say it acted like a UFO…

Klingons… 😉

They would have to be able to prove that they always were. Implicit in that is that they created all that is. Which would require all the omni’s. Then I would still understand that I am unequipped to make a true judgement on the matter and that what they present is deception.

This whole issue may sound silly to many of you, but it’s something in the imagination that personally proves counter-productive to my own faith. Maybe that’s because I don’t quite dismiss all those alien and UFO sightings and stories.
It wouldn’t matter to the faith.

If there are sentient aliens with self awareness and free will, they will have been given choices between good and evil (or there is no real choice.). Therefore, it is likely that at some point one would have chosen evil. And they would have fallen. In so doing, they would have need of the second person of the Trinity to save them.

Every person on this for has a different story of how God came to meet them. If there are aliens, they would have a Salvation History distinct from the human race. Same Creator. Same need for the Savior. But the Savior would have come to them to meet their needs. So, in coming to know their story, we would just get to know God from a new angle, just like I do every time I hear someone else’s testimony of how God came into their life,

I didn’t say that UFO’s defy the laws of physics (that was the poster to whom I was responding), and I didn’t say God doesn’t exist. Not sure why you addressed those remarks to me.

Again, if they exist, we don’t know what God’s plan is for their salvation. If the Church has actually condemned that idea, please provide the document name, because google is failing to find anything.

I think it would be fascinating to experience another version of embodiment of the rational soul Another version of God’s image and likeness.and then I would be that much more in awe of God’s creation

I don’t think that extra-terrestrials disprove God or Catholicism as such. I think it’s perfectly legitimate to think God has created other intelligent beings in our extremely vast Universe. Sure, there would be theological questions: Are these beings fallen? etc. But in itself, I’m not sure if there’s a contradiction.

MY CONCERN is, if there are advanced intelligent aliens out there, they could be more than capable of manipulating us, even messing with religion. Maybe they are behind apparitions and miracles, etc.

In that case, maybe they CREATED entire religions in the first place.

Some of you may scoff at this, but growing up, UFOs and stories of alien abductions and so on have always scared me (fascinated me)? Even I think I saw a UFO once.

Any ideas?
If they are aliens, then they must be good holy aliens to start the Catholic Church. Lol. Sci-Fi flick like Jupiter Ascending, make them even more real and likely.

It is possible that there are extra terrestials out there. In the pass twenty years, scientists have made new discoveries that were not known before, like there are exo-planets in the Golddilock zone. Just imagine what another twenty years would bring.

If there are indeed extra - terrestials, it would not contradict religious belief about God. We just do not know about them. Yet.

God exists, regardless of whether they exist or not. God being the supreme Creator, nothing is impossible with Him.

The will of God is mysterious enough!

What possible purpose could aliens have for subtly messing with humans for at least the past 10,000 years, and also never somehow never reveal themselves by choice or error. What are they profiting from this? What are humans producing that make their efforts in exercising just enough control to trick humans into maybe thinking there is a god, but is not worth redoubling those efforts to get non-believers to also produce this good or service?

Unless these beings have very different motivations than humans, their purported efforts are completely perplexing…

Aliens could exist on Earth in disguise. Here are some photos I took from the TV during HD broadcasts from the BBC.
Top left does not appear to be a human eye.
The other two seem to show the alien blinking, like a reptile, the white of the eye replaced horizontally with reptile green.
(The one in Red with the goggles is from the TV movie ‘V’ where reptiles disguise themselves as human, to make the point.)

Does it really matter though? If they are here and meddling I say ‘let them’. Humanity isn’t particularly adept at doing the right thing. Maybe they are helping? Benefit of the doubt, and all that?

You are judging these ‘advanced’ aliens without knowing anything about them. In fact if they exist and they are highly advanced, then the fact that they have not conquered us or subjugated us or tried to steal our resources, proves that they are far more civilized and benevolent than us. In contrast humans are already planning to colonize Mars and grab its resources.

The stories of aliens abduction are false stories planted by US intelligence services who have been abducting people for their own illegal, immoral experiments. This is why there are no stories of alien abductions in China where US intelligence can not operate easily (unless aliens only speak English or are afraid of the Chinese).

it would be a clever deception to present just enough phenomena to make us believe our salvation depends on science. We would be endlessly occupied with space exploration and securing ourselves from a threat that may not exist. Replacing the salvation we know by faith in God with a salvation we may not need, from a threat that may not exist and never be found.

Since the alleged aliens have not destroyed our cities, and photoshop exists, there is no evidence they exist.

But one has to wonder. We live in such a vast universe surely we couldn’t be the only ones out there?

Yeah nobody seems to notice a whole lot of “discoveries” have happened on the internet since photoshop, corel draw, illustrator and other image altering software appeared. Gotta stay sane though.

Yet wouldn’t it make it even more lovely to find out we are the only ones, and God decided to create all of this beauty just for us? I like to think this as I look up at the millions of stars and visible Milky Way in rural Iowa. I imagine that God made all of it for me out of love. Because it’s true; He would have even died a thousand cruel deaths for you alone. And He loves each individual soul as though it were the only thing in existence.

I think many would say the same thing if the earth was the only planet, possibly claiming that an infinite God would make an infinite universe because He’s God, right?

God can do anything, theres no limit to Him. It’s so easy for Him to create; I don’t see why it would be an issue for there to be a lot of it.
