Election of a new Russian Patriarch

A Russian Orthodox council will meet 27 & 28 January to elect a new Patriarch and he will be installed 29 January. I am Catholic, but I have been praying that this council will be totally open to the Holy Spirit that God’s will be done in the selection of the Patriarch. I think it is important for all Christians to pray for those whom God calls to important positions in Christianity, even though we are not in communion. What do you think?
 
I am Lutheran and I agree. Russia more than many countries has a lot of desperate and sad people. They need a faithful and strong church to proclaim the Gospel of Christ and repair some of the damage done to Russia in the last hundred years.
 
They have my special prayers.

Russia is on the verge of a key point. As it goes, the world will be forced to respond. Should they begin a new ear of imperialism, we are all in trouble.
