That answer is simple. The Democratic platform supports killing babies and the promotion of same sex activities. You know that.

CDL
There’s a republican governor that supports stem cell research. There’s a Republican Administration that has caused 100s of thousands of deaths in IRaq. Is that a pro-religion stance? Was this country somehow more religious when abortions were being done illegally instead of legally? Was there no homosexuality before the democratic “platform?” Was the country more secular under Clinton?

There’s a republican governor that supports stem cell research.
Well, there’s nothing wrong with stem cell research, so I don’t see how that’s important. Does that same governor support destroying human life to carry it out?

As far as I know, none of the proponets of stem cell research require the destruction of human life.

It is not as if, prior to stem cell research, there were no stem cells that were being disposed. It’s just a question of whether you throw them out or use them to save lives.

You know what, I don’t care! Did you know two wrongs don’t make a right?

“Yeah, we’re already mass producing dozens of human beings for the express purpose of killing them later on, so hey we might as well harvest them for stem cells!” Gimme a break.

Anyway, this is getting off-topic. You were the one who mischaracterized people by assuming they think stem cell research in itself is evil. As far as I know, nobody said that. Now does this governor you mentioned advocate destroying life to carry out stem cell research or not? Heck, just tell me the name; I’ll go look it up myself…

I am a conservative democrat who is a bit disheartened to see that party given another chance at power without first having to jettison its horrible and immoral social platform.

Correction, I am a die hard conservative who has seen the exodus of socalled Republicans from the conservative ideals of politics. Republicans especially in on the east coast does not equal Conservatism as we have seen over the last twenty or so years. The Republicans have lost there base and are suffering the results in this election. They deserve to lose.
More likely the ill concieved crusade in the middle east and the plan for a new american century has been exposed for the murderous hubris it really is.

That’s a mouthful.

But if you mean this election had everything to do with the war, you’re right.

Unfortunately the Democrats don’t have an exit strategy either.

By the way Rummy is out.

This is the thing. There was no substance in any of that… it was all based on subjective emotional bias and raw vitriol. Did you have any real points to bring up?

What is everyone so happy about? How on earth was this such a great night?
Conservatism in general is a force for evil with the key formulae that ‘it’ (abstraction of a concept) cares only for conservatism/conservatives, I expect.

I appreciate the gift, but I really don’t need anyone putting words in my mouth. I never characterized people thinking stem cell research was evil. I’ll give you a hint regarding the governor. “He’ll be back.”

LOL okay. Gotcha.

This was posted on another forum and I agree with it…

In 1994, Mother Teresa asked President Clinton, and all America, “The greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?” (Speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, February 3, 1994).

Also, the reason I say we are in for a nuclear attack is I believe Mary told us at Fatima that the fruits of abortion is nuclear war.

Yes, there are pro life Democrats and pro choice Republicans. However, when you look at the party platforms the Democratic party is in favor of all abortions, everywhere, and no matter how late. They support abortions right up until the baby is delivered. The Democrats are the party that defeated the partial birth abortion ban. This is celebrated as one of their major victories.

“Conservatism” and “Liberalism” are both meaningless labels when you get right down to it. Again, you’re just echoing more personal biases and avoiding substance.

Does Rumsfeld see the writing on the wall?

He’s probably bailing out before King George makes a scapegoat out of him…

It would be very helpful if, in discussing stem cell research, if you differentiate between embryonic stem cell research, cord blood stem cells, and adult stem cells. It makes a big difference.

100’s of thousands? Where are you getting those numbers? I think you might be confused with Sadam’s kills.
