(NIV) John 19-21 says:
19 Now this was John’s testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. 20He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Christ.g]”
21They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?”
He said, “I am not.”
“Are you the Prophet?”
He answered, “No.”
We know who Elijah is; we know who the Christ is; but who is this other Prophet they speak of? Were the Jews expecting another Prophet as well? Do Mormons and Muslims use this as evidence for another Prophet to come?
