Elijah Wood speaks about pedophilia in Hollywood

Doesn’t surprise me. Considering the sewage modern Hollywood passes off as “entertainment”, there is no low I would not put past them. A few years ago Stephen Collins was outed as a pedophile. Makes it difficult to watch the first Star Trek film. Never watched anything else he did.
 
But the only pedophilies that Hollywood blasts are Catholic Priests… The hypocrisy is criminal.
 
I saw a post like this on Facebook earlier, but I pasted it by thinking the source wasn’t credible, I am now second guessing my first assumption.

Yes- I really did like 7th heaven but haven’t seen that since he was outed, either.
I guess I just try to divorce the character from the actor if I really like a movie, or show, as I do with those two.
Yes I also agree that Hollywood only seems to get their knickers in a knot if it’s a Catholic Priest. Big Double standard.
Remember all the defense of Roman Polanski from Hollywood when he was arrested and extradited a few years ago?
 
I find Elijah Wood very credible as is Corey Feldman. At least they are brave enough to speak out although it probably jeopardizes their careers.
 
Not very surprising; didn’t Mario Puzo write about this in The Godfather (yes, it’s fiction, but the Hollywood stuff in that book was based on real-life incidents) several decades ago? It must be worse now. Ugh. :mad:😦

I never read The Godfather. Was there really pedophilia in that book?

There was a sleazy Hollywood producer with a predilection for 12-year-old girls. No graphic details. Even Don Corleone, a Mafia Family leader, thought that this was immoral and disgusting. 😦
 
If you notice whenever they bust pedophile rings, its always the little guys, they never seem to go after the ring leaders or organizers at the top of the chain. I read an article long ago that claimed top execs in hollywood, politicians, and CEOs of big companies are in control of these nationwide rings, and this is why they never go after the major players.

Im also fairly sure there is some connection with satanism, illuminati, and pedophilia, its not really about the sexual part of it, more about the control and taking innocence away.

I think the internet has certainly been a factor in the growth of pedophilia over the last 20 years.
 
It certainly would explain why so many child actors grow up to be so very deeply troubled.
 
Now the guy is back peddling. Apparently the lawyers got to him.

I agree:

Pedophilia is sexual contact between an adult and a child who hasn’t reached puberty.

This is more common with fathers, uncles or people known to the victim.

I think that the majority of priests who offend are ephebophiles, ephebophilia — intense sexual interest in teenagers.

And of course it is not only priests, but heterosexual and homosexual men who offend in this way.

Incidentally, I was a monk in a Benedictine Monastery for some time. Three priests were chronic pedophiles, one has just come out of prison, and another is just heading into prison, and he was an abbot.
 
I think they are actively trying to desensitize the public to this sort of thing, and its working…I remember when I was in middle school, if anyone claimed they were having sexual relations with a teacher or other adult, that would be literally unheard of, but today, its common to hear these headlines, its not shocking to me anymore at least, so Ive sort of grown accustomed to this happening, Id imagine many others are not shocked anymore either, given enough time, and eventually widespread acceptance (or at least tolerance) COULD happen.

Even that is sort of happening right now, whenever I hear one of these cases and its a female teacher and male student, Ive noticed many are not as bothered by it and some even say its not a big deal, but when its a male teacher and female student, another ballgame entirely…see what Im saying? Its crazy!

Plus, this is kind of the next step in our blasphemous ways, people used to be shocked and offended by gay couples, interracial couples, but not anymore, naturally in a fallen world like ours, of course sin will progress and get worse.
