Ella Abortion Drug, Billed as Emergency Contraceptive, Now Available

Washington, DC – The Ella abortion drug, which has been billed by its distributor, the FDA and abortion advocates as an improved emergency contraceptive pill, is now available across the United States via prescription.

From the manufacturer:
5.1 Pharmacodynamic properties

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Other sex hormones and modulators. ATC code: Not yet assigned.

Ulipristal acetate is an orally-active synthetic progesterone receptor modulator which acts via highaffinity binding to the human progesterone receptor. The primary mechanism of action is thought to be inhibition or delay of ovulation, but alterations to the endometrium may also contribute to the efficacy of the medicinal product.
Those alterations to the endometrium will reduce the likelihood of a blastocyst from adhering the the endometrium.

And that is what makes it an abortifacient.

I saw something, too, that it might be offered over the counter.
What kind of confused message do we give women by promoting organic foods, avoiding baby bottles with whatever plastic might be harmful, & the whole “going green” lifestyle and then marketing these powerful drugs to mess up their bodies & possibly destroy their children?
Folks say they avoid eating meat with “synthetic hormones” & then pay to take this stuff? Not to mention all the other oral contraceptives already on the market.
Even if you have no religious qualms surely this doesn’t make sense from a health perspective. Sure doesn’t for me.

Abortion isn’t about health and it never has been, except in a few rare cases where the baby starts growing outside the uterus and cannot live and also presents a danger to the health and life of the mother. Age is also not an issue: the youngest mother in medical history was a little Peruvian girl named Lina Medina who was five years, seven months and 21 days old when she gave birth, so there is no excuse to abort the baby because someone is “too young” to give birth (i.e. the case about the nine-year-old whose parents and doctor had her abort her baby).

Abortion is about convenince and/or coercion, not health concerns. A promiscuous woman who does not want to carry her baby to term. A girl who is forced into abortion by her boyfriend or father. A girl who cannot care for the child and is talked into an abortion when she seeks help. These women have other concerns that come before their own health or their future health.

I do think that health is a good argument against abortion for all those “people should be able to do whatever they want for whatever reason” folks who seem to be growing in number as the education system indoctrinates teenagers toward this view.
