Hi.

I’m looking for suggestions for an eloquent advocate of Catholicism.

Atheism is well represented by Hitchens and some others, Protestantism has had the likes of Peter Gomes and Archbishop Rowan Williams, Judaism has Rabbi Harold Kushner and some others, Muslims have Tariq Ramadan.

Whom would you recommend as an outstandingly eloquent advocate for Catholicism? Is there anyone that you particularly like?

I know he’s gone now, but how could you forget John Paul II, also, while Benedict is seen by the media as harsh, I find him eloquent.

St. John the evangelist

Being Eloquent is a gift rather than a compliment, and so few people actually have that gift. Off the top o’me head, I can think of the following
G.K. Chesterton
St John Chrysostem
Hilaire Belloc (spelling?)

I suppose you could throw a few others in there. That’s all I can think of right nyow.

The opposite of Michael Voris 😉

Waiting for his fan club to throw flames my way.

Some current speakers I’ve listened to recently are Fr. Robert Barron–“Catholicism” on EWTN on line. Very powerful speaker. And Scott Hahn–on Youtube also on EWTN with many topics. He is fantastic and I think a convert to Catholicism.
