Many non-Christians (and some professed Christians) speak of an imaginary Jesus of their own imagination, very much different than the Biblical Jesus.

You may be reading into Elton what is really from Bernie Taupin. In a similar way Elton is reading into Jesus what is really from Elton.

It’s always absurd to hear these folk who believe tthat we can’t know much about Jesus, or that the Church doesn’t really know about Jesus, telling us what He would support or not support. How exactly would they know?
