I still enjoy his music. I don’t think it is particularly charitable to call someone an idiot.

I do not see where anyone called anyone else an idiot. That word nor any similar derogatory comments or personal slurs appeared in any previous post nor in either news article.

Did I read the article incorrectly, or are we really just talking about a photographic work of art that was siezed for questionable content? I didn’t gather that it was porn at all.

A photograph at the centre of a child pornography investigation belongs to Sir Elton John, his website states.

Apparently a photograph of two underage nude girls whose title implies they are belly dancing is at the center of the issue.

While the image is almost certainly porn in the strict sense, whether it crosses the line into illegal child porn is a matter for investigators. If it does, it is unlikely that anything will happen to Sir John. At worst I suspect that the photo would simply be confiscated and destroyed.

Here is a link to him parading cub scouts on stage doing a strip tease to promote homosexual rights.
No, the article only alleges that they were 18- and 19-year-old professional strippers dressed as Cub Scouts.

That was my impression too.

Unlike some people his music never appealed to me.There was one duet he did with a girl which i enjoyed However,it took restraint to avoid saying so in case i got called homophobic.I’ve seen him interviewed on TV and couldn’t take to him at all.Possibly because in his earlier days he got married, then later came out as gay.I wonder if the marriage was about ensuring his career would not be damaged. Here is a link to the Daily Express:-

I simply don’t stop listening to someone’s music because they are gay. If it is good, it is good. Elton John has produced some good pop music over the years.

I didn’t say i disliked his music because he was gay.All i said was his music never appealed to me.Mind you,i would hesitate to spend my money on his music for him to
then use his fame to attack my Church. He uses his celebrity status to attack religion generally. He has attacked our former Cardinal/Archbishop for speaking out against homosexuality. He soaks up publicity when it suits him and then throws a tantrum when it doesn’t.
We had a character who was doing well in a singing competition
till it came out he had been involved in a vicious assault on an ex-soldier.His crime didn’t stop him being a good singer, but we haven’t heard anything of him since…

I think that the title of this tread is a bit misleading, I was expecting some sort of Garry Glitteresque issue.

All that we have is some questionable art (having not seen the photos, I cant comment on their content) and to spice it up a story about “cub scout” strippers.

I guess that Angus Young has better watch out.

This is what the galery shows in their own words. You get what you expected when going there.

A photo that was exhibited in several places 5 years ago and sold at a public auction?
it seems odd that someone suddenly decided that it was “porn”

I really don’t know Nan Goldin’s work. A brief look at some of her stuff on the net showed a selection of fairly intimate photos, some nude most not. They could be friends an Family members. They are not exactly my style but she appears to be a real artist. I don’t know what the picture in question looks like but if it is in a similar style I’m not sure how it could be labeled as pornographic.

My mom has photos of me in the tub as a child. My wife has photos of her granddaughter nude at the beach. Art museums (and churches) have all sorts of nudes on display. Are they all to be probed?
