Embarrasing question about sexual fantasy

This is very embarrassing, but maybe some people can understand, as I did this when I was younger and did not really know fully about sex. I had entertained these horrible thoughts about sexual actions with an animal, but I do not think that at the time I thought it was a mortal sin. As objectively shameful as it was, I don’t think it was a mortal sin to purposely think about this, because I didn’t really fully understand sexuality at the time. What do others think? Again please keep in mind that at that time, I was very unsure about sexuality (such as masturbation and pornography–I didn’t really know they were gravely sinful), but since then I have matured and seen how wrong I used to be and I have changed myself.

Bestiality is a mortal sin. But, since you didn’t know that it was a sin, the graveness of the sin is lowered. So it’s venial sin. Nevertheless, sin is sin, an offense against Love (God).
