Embarrassed saints?

Hi everyone:

I am going to be confirmed next weekend and was looking for a saints name to take on as my own.

I was wondering if anyone could think of any saints who were initially embarrassed by their faith? I know Peter denied Christ three times (likely out of embarrassment), but was wondering if there are any others?

St. Augustine was a sinner…in fact sinned greatly…but her mother prayed for her for 16 years before finally becoming a catholic, turning his life around…and a doctor of the church.

You could look at St. John Vianney too…he was considered a poor student.
 
Probably not what you are looking for, but I can sympathise with him so much - St Charles Borromeo was plagued by gangs of boys shouting the Italian equivalent of ‘Oy! Big Nose!’ whenever he was out and about being a bishop in Milan.
 
I think St Faustina was given a hard time by some of her sisters in the convent.
 
You made me smile when you said Peter might have been embarassed, cause I think it went beyond that. He feared for his life!!! He had a mob of crazies around him!!

Haha, good point, good point. I guess in the story they always refer to a girl (or girls) being around him at the time, so I figure he was embarrassed 😃 …, either way I can relate. He’s actually who I ended up choosing as my saint’s name for my Confirmation today.
