Above is a link to a Vatican document related to Embryonic Stem Cell Research. I have two questions. First, in embryonic stem cell research, are human beings killed (i.e. body and soul)???

Ans: Yes, human beings are being killed. A human being, by God’s design is a body and soul entity. Death is the separation of the soul from the body.
Second, intherapeutic cloning, are new persons artifically created with individual bodies and souls and destroyed thereafter??? Thanks and God Bless.

Ans: Yes, new persons are artifically created with individual bodies and souls and then destroyed. There is no distinction between so called therapeutic cloning and reproductive cloning. The adjective ‘therapeutic’ is used to mask what is going on. Cloning occures when a diploid cell, an embryo, is created and ‘activated’ from a somatic cell. ‘Therapeutic’ cloning is a clone and kill proceedure while ‘reproductive’ cloning is a clone and let live proceedure. In both cases the acutal cloning procedure is identical.
 
Thankfully the debate over stem cell research may soon be a thing of the past. A Australian research team have discovered that stem cells can be harvested from the nasal passage of a adult without doing any damageto them… In fact the stem cells can be harvested from the nasal passage of the very person who is in need of treatment…So hopefully the doctor frankenstiens(sp) can get their
greedy eyes off of unborn babies…The best thing about all this is that the whole thing was funded by the Catholic Church. 👍

What you are talking about is adult stem cell research, not embryonic stem cell research. Adult stem cells can be harvested from several places. Adult stem cell research is the most promising and has shown the best results, but does not have the plasticity researchers want (although it is proving to be more plastic than first thought). The plasticity issue drives researchers to demand money for embryonic stem cell research.
