Emergency conformation possible?

hello- my daughter has been asked to be a god parent in spetember but has not made her confirmation. She is 22 and attends church. Is it possible for her to make her confirmation so quickly?

first off, is she a baptized catholic? if not, she must be baptized, have first confession then holy communion,. then comes confirmation. in order to do all this, assuming she is not baptized, she has to go to RCIA. and that takes almost 2 years to go through. however, if she is already baptized, had first confession and holy communion, then she can ask to be confirmed. one cannot skip things.

emergency confirmation is possible, but that usually means in danger of death, facing serious surgery etc. A child, teen or adult in that situation should be confirmed as soon as possible to complete Christian initiation and have the benefit of the strength and graces of the sacrament. Merely delaying confirmation prep does not constitute an emergency. Best plan is for her to meet with her pastor, who knows her and has a better idea of her level or readiness and follow his advice

In this diocese our bishop introduced a program for 1st communion prep for adults which was completed during Lent, with communion received on Palm Sunday, and confirmation prep completed right after Easter, and he himself confirmed the entire class (almost 300 people) early in May. So it is at least theoretically possible for a practicing Catholic adult who already is living the faith and living the Catholic life to be prepared in a much shorter time than standard parish programs. But it is for the bishop to decide when they are confirmed, and whether he reserves the privilege for himself or delegates it to certain priests (for that occasion alone).
