Emergency novena

I have been approached with an oppurtunity to go to Peru on a mission trip for 20 days this summer. Before knowing the trip needed people, I was guided to look information up about it online. And after mass last night I was apporached about the trip for the first time. The problem is I need to know at the start of next week if I am going. Does anyone know a good novena to pray for it, and how to pray an emergency novena?

Not sure exactly what you mean by ‘emergency novena’ - there are at least three that I know of. One is Mother Theresa’s - shown here:

Another is to the Infant Jesus of Prague (a novena of hours, prayed at the same time every hour for nine hours) - scroll down to the last post on the page to find the actual prayer:

The third is called the Storm Novena and goes as follows :

The Storm Novena (before the Blessed Sacrament)

It consists of visiting the Blessed Sacrament nine times in the one day and praying there on your knees with your arms outstretched to pray for your petitions.

You can choose any prayers that you like to say at these visits. (Some suggestions of mine are any novena prayers to saints or to Our Lady, or some Our Fathers, Hail Marys and Glorias, or a decade of the Rosary at each visit). Anyway just choose the prayers that you wish to say and tell Our Lord the favours that you are asking Him for.

You always make a fervent Act of Contrition at the first of the nine visits. It is a novena with a reputation of “delivering the goods” in other words obtaining favours from Our Lord.

JUST REMEMBERED ANOTHER ONE - to the Holy Spirit (which might be a good one): say the following prayer each day for three days :

‘Holy Spirit ,You who make me see everything and showed me the way to reach my ideals, You who gave me the divine gift to forgive and forget the wrong that is done to me and you who are in all instances of my life with me. I want to thank You for everything and confirm once more that I never want to be separated from You no matter how great the material desire may be.I want to be with You and my lo ved ones in Your perpetual glory. Amen. (Mention your request.)’

While making the request, you must promise either: (a) To publish this prayer or (b) To circulate the favor

Good question :hmmm:

I believe, for example, if you pray for money and receive it, you’d either pass on the excess to the needy (if you get more than you need), or you help someone else out with a similar amount of money if/when you can do so.

My parents have always said when they’ve helped me out not to pay it back to them, but to the needy instead ❤️

It wouldn’t be something that can be done in every situation though, and overall the publication deal sounds a lot easier, I just stick with that 😃
