EMHC'S and the Holy Tabernacle

Does anybody else have problems with EMHC’S approaching and opening the Tabernacle before and after Mass ?

It seems more and more that the roles of priests are being reduced by something/someone.

I am one of them, but I get the priest to do that, felt uncomfortable myself in opening the tabernacle.

I have a problem with EM’soHC opening the tabernacle for removal and reposition of the Blessed Sacrament when a Priest is quite well able to do it himself.

Here at our Parish, we are in the process of moving the tabernacle back in nobilissimo loco i.e. to the centre of the Church behind the Altar. I pointed out to our beloved PP what when this happens there will be no reason for the EM’soHC to go to the tabernacle as it will be far easier for the Priest to do so.

He told me things will stay as they are and EM’soHC will still be required to go.

Some are very uncomfortable with it and some revel in it. Some genuflect some bow some forget.

I dunno.
