1ke has posted appropriately for a poster who is clearly scrupulous. The poster has also already received sufficient information about the context of “Emma”. There is no good reason for this thread to continue.

I read some things online about the fact that the romantic interest (the male) is a lot older than Emma, and that he has loved her since she was 13.

Emma is twenty when the story takes place. That someone loved her since she was 13 is not really relevant.
