I thought the OP made it sound as if she was approached by these recruiters after she submitted her application and that they were nonetheless still interested in submitting for her. I got this impression because it did not make sense to me that she would dismiss a recruiter suggesting she apply to a job that she had not already applied to.
That was my impression too.

I would send another resume. I know the deadline has passed. But they haven’t hired anyone.

So, prepare another resume. With a cover letter explaining that this is your second try and why.

Then send it return receipt requested. That way you will know that they got it, and that you are interested.

But also know, even though you think you are a good fit, they may not. 🤷

That may be the case…OR they just aren’t moving very fast in the hiring process. When my husband was looking, there were times he didn’t hear back from particular companies weeks and weeks after the closing date. Sometimes he had even forgotten he had submitted his resume and then boom, a phone call. Three weeks really isn’t that long for companies to not respond to a resume these days.

Wow, I missed that.

3 Weeks???

That’s nothing. Especially if they are also using recruiters. You have no idea how many resumes they received.

When was the deadline? Many employers will not ever start looking through the resumes until after the deadline.

I advertised for a job with specific requirements that had to be met to be considered and desired experience that would give a person an advantage in being hired. We got resumes from hundreds of people - 95% didn’t meet the basic requirements and at least 70% were hopelessly under qualified. I have over 100 resumes on file (I only kept the qualified and somewhat qualified).

I started another thread with an update but I guess perhaps I should post here.

The hiring manager did get back to me. She told me they are having problems with their computer system and decided to focus on that and put the hiring process aside for now. I explained that a recruiter had told me they hadn’t found anyone and was concerned my resume had gotten lost in the pile and repeated I had the unique skill they were looking for.
Then I thanked her for calling me.

At least now I know for a fact my resume did not get lost in the pile. If they don’t contact me for an interview, as much as it will hurt, I will know other people had better qualifications and it was not an oversight

That is good that you got through to ask about the resume. Now hopefully your resume is on the top of the pile! Keep up posted.

Recruitment is like dating. Sometimes there’s silent treatment, things go fishy, you don’t get told what’s wrong and sometimes the other party doesn’t really know either. Sometimes it seems to be a perfect fit except then the other party bails out for whatever reason or no reason. Sometimes you never get your answers. Therefore it’s important to learn the ability to shut it off and not let it eat at you. Move on and don’t look back much.

This was just the right thing to do!

Well, you have done everything that you could. Maybe the next opportunity will come along soon. Sure hope so!
