In the prayer Respect for Life, one request is:
Empower us to work for justice for the poor.
Please name some ways how people may be empowered to work for this justice.

Very simply indeed! I am all but housebound and indeed semi-bedbound and I have no worldly power…

But I have family who work to provide the basics for life for deeply disadvantaged children. So my abundant time and less abundant strength are totally dedicated to supporting them and their work.Simply I knit! Fine works of my own design, knitted here in my bed, And sell the work… Someone once said at my stall( I am fighting to keep trading and selling…)“You pray with your hands.”

Justice cannot exist when folk are starving and fighting for survival. So we strive to save tiny lives.
 
Volunteer at a homeless shelter, food bank, your local St. Vincent de Paul. Visit people in hospitals, nursing homes, veteran homes. Pray for conversions, for deceased people in general, for souls in purgatory. Join the Franciscan 3rd order.
