Empty Tabernacle on Good Friday?

The problem is although, it seems as if he’s already decided.
 
I think that would be a good solution in the circumstances. A “square box” with a hinged door would suffice, and perhaps some of the ladies could attach eyelet screws and cord to hang silk ‘drapes’ to line it with, a (purificator ← is wrong - my mistake, sorry. It should be a corporal) on the floor is suitable for the ciboriums to be placed on, and a simple white silk or satin covering for a veil - would do for this year. Hopefully by next year, if after each Mass a collection is taken up to raise money or other fundraisers happen, enough can be saved to buy a second hand tabernacle.

There is a website that sells used church items from parishes that have closed or remodeled. We have purchased several things, including a tabernacle. The items are beautiful, in very good condition, and reasonably priced. I will ask my pastor the name of the company and let you know.
 
As long as it can be secured, what was described is a tabernacle.

Yes. Cor_as_Cor is correct. What I described is what we used at my parish one year, before we obtained a more ornate Tabernacle which we use for our altar of repose.

I forgot to add that the “Square Box” one also had a working lock on the door.
