I was remembering this, although I have never forgotten. I was a little girl, and my family and I were walking down town. A homeless old man approached my Father infront of us.

I never forgot. He was wearing a yellow shirt, black pants, he had little flowers in his hand, and If i remember correctly a lavander color rosary. He was around 70-90, whit hair and like cuts or scabs on his skin.

I have never seen someone like that, ever. My dad gave him money…sometimes I feel like it could have been Jesus “in disguise”… I have never seen an elder man with flowers in his hands and a cross/rosary…

I just thought I would share that

Amazingly similar experience…and the man’s face and expression always sticks in my mind…think of him often…wonder where he is today. Picked my son up U of BAMA…Tuscaloosa…driving back southeast…entering outskirts of Montgomery AL…see the back of this man homeless walking along side road entering the business roadside areas. Son and I passed him went @W 1.5 miles to a Burger King…got our food and for some reason got an extra big meal w/drink. Pulled out to eat as we drove…son was driving…told him lets loop back to see if we can find that man…saw him about 1/2 mile away…passed.him…looped around and drove up next to him and stopped to offer the meal (and @$20 cash)…wrapped in a sealed bag…with the drink. I asked him his name…told him mine…he never told me his name…just looked at me directly and said thank you very much… clearly and articulately…smiled said he was hungry…as unkempt and rugged as he and his attire looked…his face had a fresh almost pristine quality…he turned to go sit on the roadside (to eat the food)…so we drove on.

Probably just the crossroads of lives in God’s plan…but I too wonder… because he sticks in my mind and heart.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences with the less fortunate. It just goes to show you no matter where you’re at in life you can always do more 👍

I was hungry and you fed me…thank you for feeding the hungry.

Saint Martin of Tours met a begger who was hungry, almost naked and was shaking and trembling with cold. He had no money, nothing to give the poor man. He wanted so much to help that he drew out his sword, cut the cloack in half and handed one half to the beggar; the remaining half he wrapped around himself and proceeded on his way.
That night, he reportedly had a dream.
Jesus appeared to him surrounded by a dazzling light and wearing the half of his cloak he had given to the beggar!
