I still believe in the Calling. You are either called to religious life or you are not.

I do not pretend to know why God is calling fewer of us, I would guess it is a trial, although I have difficulty imagining why our Father in Heaven would need to test our Faith here in the U.S. (tongue frimly implanted in cheek…)
My son and my daughters are free to make their own decisions of course, and I am confident that if called, they will answer.

I would be so proud and honored if one of my daughters had a calling to become a Sister.

While I can’t say that I’d push them that way, every once in a while when we discuss their futures, I let them know it’s an option!

If one of my sons had a vocation to the priesthood, I would encourage it. However, I would push him to look at the Traditional Orders (FSSP, Institute of Christ the King, etc.). I would, unfortunately, have grave concerns about his entering as a member of a Religious order or as a diocesen priest with no recourse to the Traditional Latin Mass. I am also extremely concerned about our post-Vatican II (Novus Ordo) seminary training and the influx of homosexuals to the priesthood over the past 40 years. The “Lavender Mafia” is alive and powerful in all levels of the clergy today.

Sure it’s a wonderful idea. My 12-yr old son has had an interest in joining the priesthood for the past two years.

I would be honored & our family would be blessed if he decided to dedicate his life to serving Christ & others.🙂
