Maybe I just do not understand. No excuse for sin. As someone who is used to cussing, believing in God has not made me magically change my vocabulary. I understand no excuse for sin, but why do we sin then? No matter how many hail mary’s I will say, by tomorrow I will not become this perfect person. I just do not understand. I understand why some people are very strict about the idea of sin, but at the same time, I disagree because some habits are difficult to remove thoroughly.

It takes time to develop new good habits. Perhaps you can say “Oh no!” instead of a bad word.

Then, a few deep breaths while thinking of the presence of our Lord instead of saying “Oh no!”.

Of course, keep up with prayer and the sacraments.

There’s an old saying “If you want to be a saint, make up your mind to do it.”

It’s like that. If you want to change, you will.
If someone wants to save for a car, they save for a car.
Change has to be a priority. It takes effort. Prayers don’t have magical powers. We have to cooperate with God’s grace. Submit to His holy will. You can do it.
Just decide. “I’m not going to cuss anymore”.
