First off, depression is a handy tool the devil uses to separate you from God. Do you miss your mom? She misses you too. And she is still with you- you can talk to her. She is part of the community of saints. You must believe this.

Secondly, God misses you too. God isn’t disappointed in you- He wants to help you, but you need to help yourself first. And to do that, you have to pray for yourself, and you have to listen to God, and not your self-loathing.

My mom died suddenly in 2008, and I’m still not over it. I used to weigh 400 pounds in 2006. By 2008 I was 175. After mom died I got depressed and by Mach of 2009 I was 252 pounds. And it didn’t stop. By 2011 I was 300. Now I am back down to 252. It is hard, very hard.

It has to be worse for a woman, I know, but if you hate yourself you hate yourself. And all that does is destroy the plan God has for you. It is a form of selfishness. I know it has only been a year for you, and her memory will always be there, and this is CHristmas.

My advice is to right now forget about your weight. Christmas time is not the best time to start losing weight. Secondly, please don’t worry about your hair. Steal yourself away and give everything to God. When you wish you were dead, think of Jesus who never did anything wrong and prayed to God that he wouldn’t die. He was treated like dirt from day one. This is not to make you feel ashamed, it is to make you understand that JESUS KNOWS SUFFERING. And wants you to lean on HIM.
