End of the world.

Well, I personally hope and pray something happens. Either the “end of the world” or something to purify the earth and this horrible Godless culture we all live in. However, I prefer the first option.

:yup: That’s my take too. I don’t know how much longer God can go on being offended in this way. The thousands of babies killed every single day, rampant homosexuality, pornography, and other immorality, the rejection of all Christian values, the spread of false religions and no religion… I sure HOPE He does something about it. I see a purification on the horizon, if nothing else.

And why should it matter to me? Keeps me on my toes so that I remain in a state of grace. Gives me a lot to pray about. Have to know what’s going on in the world to teach my children the truth. Lots of reasons. I think the responses of “Don’t worry” are a little simplistic. No, we should not worry about it, but we should be thinking about the way things are in the world and how we can either react to them, or do something to help the situation.

Where will worry get one? But prayer can do all things; meanwhile as St. Gregory said: “Evil ministers to God’s Design”.
As Jesus said “Satan is the prince of this world, but fear not little flock, I have overcome Satan”…not will overcome or shall overcome but “overcome”. God’s actions in this world are often very mysterious to us “My Ways are not your ways”.

In some instances one may be able to do something about some evil existing in the world, but far better such be reasoned and prayerful action and not a negative, passion triggered, emotional reaction.

Despite all the evil that does go on in the world, and almost always has, it remains a beautiful world with wonderful things happening in it and wonderful people doing them.

To the OP- Even if the world ended in the next five minutes, what good would speculation do? There would be no way to stop it, if it is truly of God. When God calls the game, that’s it.

Couldn’t we throw a red flag and contest the decision? All it will cost us is a timeout.

mmmmmm…I guess if St. Michael was to appear and announce the world will end next Wednesday, we could pray for a delay “whatever you ask of The Father in my name, it will be granted to you”. On the remote offchance St. Michael did appear with such fore warning…I would sure give prayer an ernest and heartfelt a try in an attempt to delay! The end of things as in the Book of Revelations is not exactly the most comforting of reading.

With Aussie Rules football, the umpires decision is absolutely final with no argument entered into…even if a replay after the match proves he called things wrong and a wrong decision that decided the game.
