Has anyone heard of this so called “prophet” named David Terrell. Although he does travel around the country I believe he is more accepted in well known in the south. His ministries are based out of Dallas, Tx. This man and his claims on being a prophet and receiving “messages” from God are frightening. My uncle who was a cradle Catholic has been following the teachings of this quack and has abandoned the faith because of him. This guy is anti-Catholic and even despises most protestant religions. He even sells “holy oil” that he has “blessed”. Obviously he’s off the deep end but I am concerned about my uncle, as he takes whatever this “prophet” says as Truth. Terrell even goes as far to say in his most recent prediction that Benedict has little time and our next Pope will be an advocate for the anticrist. To read about the rediculous claims he makes heres a link
www.angelfire.com/la/prophet1/. If anyone has any info or experiences with this guy please respond, I am worried for my uncle and all of the other followers of this false prophet.

I’m sorry to hear about your uncle’s unfortunate diversion away from his faith. I browsed around the site that you linked to… looks like a hodge-podge of various Protestant “stuff.” We shouldn’t be surprised at the proliferation of these cults and sects. Especially in Texas, which seems to be a sort of basin into which the craziest of the crazies settle. I grew up in Texas, and frequently travel there, so I am very familiar with the landscape. Just drive down any highway in Texas and see the motley collection of steel buildings dedicated to the various cults and sects.

I hope you won’t cease to be a positive and forceful witness of our Catholic faith to him. In the end, though, people are free to do and be what they want to be. We can worry and fear, but free will means just that… people are free. He will probably try to evangelize you, and other family members. You need to be prepared to offer a good argumentative defense of the faith, both by knowing yours, and something about his. Good luck!

Well, I am not a Catholic, but it may be beneficial for you to show your Uncle what the scriptures say about new revelations and new messages from God. I don’t want to start something more on the forums, so send me a PM if you would like me to toss a few passages your way, something to get you on the right track to maybe helping your Uncle. Of course, in the end, you can show him every scripture there is, and you won’t see any difference. God has closed your uncle’s eyes, and only God can open them.
