I imagine that you are speaking of the temple being rebuilt and sacrifices commencing again. And I would think that since the Jews still do not accept Christ as the atonement that it only makes sense that they sacrifice animals again.

In Dispensationalist thought, however, the Jews that will living in the “Millennial Kingdom” after the Rapture/Tribulation/Second Coming will be followers of Christ. Followers of Christ, according to the Letter to the Hebrews, do not (or should not) believe that earthly, bloody sacrifices, since the once for all sacrifice of Calvary, have any meaning at all.

The question remains a good one for Dispensationalists: Why rebuild the temple and resume the temple sacrifices??

Ah, my understanding was that the Jews would rebuild the temple and do sacrifices before the second coming (premillennial). That was always my understanding. The rebuilding of the temple was the forerunner of the Second coming.

I would like to see a chart or something that describes this process. It’s been a while since I’ve been a card-carrying Baptist so I’m definitely rusty on my eschatology. 😃

Rebuilding the temple to resume temple sacrifice is inferior to the Paschal sacrifice of Jesus Christ at the Mass which make presence the Sacrifice of the Cross.

Actually, many Dispensationalists do believe that the temple will be re-built during that time (before the “Tribulation”). According to them, that’s where the Anti-Christ will take his seat and place himself in the place of God.

I haven’t heard them say much about sacrifices before the Rapture/Second Coming, only *after *during the “Millennial Kingdom.” Offering sacrifice during either time is crazy, but I suppose for them it would make sense.

You could probably visit any number of websites run by Rapturists to get a timeline. I’m not about to provide heretical resources myself.

I can, however, point you to the definitive Catholic response to this hooey that includes an exhaustive debunking of the Rapture theology, loads of great commentary from a Catholic viewpoint on the prophetic and apocalyptic books of the Bible, and lot and lots of charts:

DISCLAIMER: I don’t believe in this Rapture nonsense, I’m just providing info about it’s errors! 😃

Thank you Fidelis.

Yes, LOL, I know you don’t believe in it. I understand it’s for informational purposes only.

I looked at a few sites, but they were all deep and not well organized.

I am interested (more) in the Catholic viewpoint than in the protestant view.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Daniel.

Boy, they believe they have it figured out, don’t they? In the first link there is a lot of “well, we don’t know”. Seems far-fetched to me. Thanks for the links.
