Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As some of you know, I began re-reading “The Diary of St. Faustina – Divine Mercy in My Soul” at the beginning of the “Year of Mercy” proclaimed by Pope Francis. I finished reading the book last Saturday, the Vigil of Christ the King, and the close of the Year of Mercy. It was a great blessing to me, and I hope the entries that I shared here on CCF were a blessing to you.

By God’s Grace, may the new Church Year beginning this First Sunday of Advent Nov. 27, be another year filled with great graces for all of us, as we celebrate the Liturgy and re-live spiritually the Life of Christ in our own souls. I’ll end this thread with two entries from St. Faustina’s Diary:
1732 - As I was praying for Poland , I heard the words (from Jesus): I have a special love for Poland, and if she will be obedient to My will, I will exalt her in might and holiness. From her will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming.
I wondered it that “spark” from Poland was St. John Paul II. St. Faustina died in 1938. It was St. John Paul II who beatified her (April 18, 1993) and canonized her (April 30, 2000). It was he who as Archbishop (27 years after her death had delegated Bishop Grolicki to open the Informative Process, Oct. 21, 1965).
The last quote I’d like to add is this:
1790 - I have come to know that, in order for God to act in a soul, it must give up acting on its own, otherwise, God will not carry out His will in it.
This last quote is significant for me because having read St. John Paul II’s encyclical on the Holy Spirit, I have been, by God’s Grace, trying very hard to ask the Holy Spirit to guide me into all truth as Jesus promised, before I act on anything. It has been a special grace for me and I thank both St. John Paul II and St. Faustina for their faithful witness to God’s Will which has helped me so much. Thanks to all of you who have contributed your own insights to the threads on the Diary and helped me to pray over the words I read and posted.

I’m so glad you posted this, as I just got her diary in the mail. I intend to start reading it today.

Dear Saber Mom,

So glad you will be reading this wonderful book! You will be blessed by it, I’m sure. I have read it twice now – cover to cover – but sometimes I go back to it just to read a paragraph or two and I’m always blessed by God’s work in this humble soul – it encourages me in my own striving to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.

We are all called to holiness! He is always working for good in our lives yet we need to do our part in cooperating with His grace, through the intercession of Mary and by the power of His Holy Spirit.

Jesus, I trust in You!
