:crying: Warning this is a whine thread

So with this last period my Endo pain and symptoms have returned…already…my surgery was just two months ago, in June! The Napro doctor was so sure of his ability to prolong the return of symptoms. He predicted I might never need the surgery again. Whatfreakingever!!! Thankfully the pain isn’t constant. And it’s not severe nor incapacitating…yet. But I know it’s just around the corner. I’m going to be spending some part of next year writhing in pain and I will need this d*** surgery again. I can’t take it anymore. Im at my wits end. I want it gone. Ovaries, uterus any anything else that could be causing this nightmare. :crying: whiiiiiiiiiiine

Ok end whine session. Thanks for listening.

Unless you wish to have children maybe you should be on the pill for medical reasons. Surgery seems to be a little extreme to me, esp. if you have already been on this route before. Endometreious has a way of being difficult to get rid of and surgery may be spreading the cells around and they can grow in other parts of the body, believe it or not. Maybe a second opinion is in order.

I think it’s time to get off this bus.

I remember there was a previous thread, and you have good options. Do check in with your psychiatrist, though, about the effect of going on birth control pills with regard to your mental health and if you do go that route, work closely with your psychiatrist and your husband to monitor your mental well-being.

Best wishes!

If a Napro approach isn’t working for you, I’d certainly seek a second opinion from a doctor who may be prepared to explore a wider range of treatment options (including - shock, horror - the Pill).

Napro has plenty of fans on this forum, but it’s not for everyone. The idea of multiple surgeries with debatable chances of long term success would be very off putting to me, as it was for my wife.

I have no advice or experience but I just wanted to day that I am so sorry you are going through this.

No advice, hang in there. I can commiserate, i know all too well the “80% of people…” presurgery speech… Only to end up one of the 20% it didn’t work for,

I feel for you. And, if this eases your mind any, I am on menopause hormones (technically it is not the pill but comes in a pack) for absolute horrible night sweats, mild panic attacks, and excruciating headaches and pain “down under.” I am on my way to see my GYN again because other measures are not working. 😦

I too see a psychiatrist for anxiety, and I truly feel there is no reason to deny using hormones for medical treatments. I have talked to numerous priests about this and every single one told me to ease up on myself…and that I was probably doing more harm to my body and family’s mental health because I was suffering.

Someone did recommend perhaps herbs, but as a former analytical chemist, I do not trust the consistency or quality of herbal remedies. Too much of a Bayesian for my own good.
