It is a wack job nut like this guy that worries me. I fell asleep with the tv on and woke up to his diatribe about the “evil pope”. He said that Pope John Paul and Gorbachov made a pack about the third world order?

Can someone explain any of this for me.

In the absence of structure, chaos ensues. I cannot explain this particular brand of crazy but it’s things like this that make me thank God for the Magisterium.

Money and ignorance of the Catholic Church keep these guys going.

These guys know nothing about the One True catholic and Apostolic Church that was founded by Christ himself.

I think you meant New World Order.

Ok, since Israel came into being in 1948, some protestants have basically lost their marbles. They see this creation of the State of Israel fulfilling many of the prophecy found in Daniel etc.

Are they in error, sure…they are pre-trib rapture pre mill types. Because they do not have the complete Bible of scriptures they do not understand the prophecy contained in Daniel and they also seem to forget that during the Olivet Discourse as found in Matthew, Jesus specifically warned his followers not to listen to those who would try to predict when he would return. For not even he, Jesus, knew only the Father in Heaven.

So when you have personal interpretation of scripture and no one to answer to and you can make a good and compelling presentation you get guys like this. I do believe he truly believes what he is saying, just as all the false prophets in the past. He is in error, just as the Arians, so we need to pray for him.

And yes, this is how he makes his living.

I use to be a fundie, pre trib, pre rapture pre mil protestant. Since 1948, Jesus was to return in 1968 (then a generation was 20 years) then 1988 (40 years like in the wilderness with Moses) now, since Jesus did not return in 2000, the new date is 2028 (80 years). Harold Camping miscalulated 21 May 2011. Though some are looking at May 2012 when the Mayan calender is to reset.

Now understand, not all protestants hold to this position. Within protestantism there are many different beliefs on the endtimes. Everyone trying to predict…thinking God will tell them while he has left Jesus the Son in the dark.

Know your faith and catechism, that is the best defense against the endtime types.

:)Yes, I did mean New World Order;) I was a little hot under the collar when I posted this. LOL!

I think I am over my initial shock from waking up to this wack job and his rant against the Pope and Catholicism.

But I do want to thank all of you for explaining and calming me down. Thanks again.

i think you would have to marry a few things together to say these are the end times.

1948 israel becomes a nation, 1967 jerusalem taken.

6000 years of time elapsed,
since around 1900 we have invented the phone, the car, and a couple of others things
that draw a line in the sand between the ancient world and a modern one.

nuclear weapons, which God gave man so he could blow himself up and so fulfill the prophecys.

theres only one pope left after benedict, he will take the name pius x111.

according to scientist if no action is taken on climate change it will take a thousand years to fix the problem. i think the world is stuffed climatially.

I too have caught this nut job on Daystar a couple of times while channel surfing. I know Daystar is a non-catholic protestant tv station, but I don’t think it would be very wise of them to be seen as an anti-catholic tv station. I would say they should pull the plug on this guy, but protestant tv stations sell airtime to any non catholic form “christianity”, even if it contradicts the base teachings of the network, just as long as they get the cash.

I have lost a lot of faith in the Christian TV networks - think your right as long as the they get the cash your on the air. I used to think they’re not just a business but they have a higher calling or mission. Guess I was wrong.

Not everyone is trying to predict, Mark. Lutheran endtimes belief is Amillennialist, as is much of the Reformed, and Anglicans.

waxwing, As far as TV networks go, You can always keep your faith in EWTN. Since this thread is about endtimes, if you want a really good explanation of what it is and what it is not, get yourself of a copy of a CD called The Rapture & The Bible by John Martignoni from Biblechristiansociety.com. This guy finds so many holes in rapture enthusiests claims it’ll wow you. He sounds like a deep South preacher, but he is most definitely Catholic. IN FACT EVERYONE SHOULD GET THIS CD!
