Enjoyable Books

Apart from Catholic books what other books do you guys like to read?

I like the classics.

Pride and Prejudice, War and Peace, To Kill a Mockingbird, etc.
There is a great comfort in reading classic writing for me.

I read a lot of Christian fiction. Most of the authors are Protestant, but they are still quite enjoyable and CLEAN reads (which are so hard to find these days. )

I’m currently reading a biography of Walt Disney. I enjoy historical books. I’m really enjoying Warren Carroll’s History of Christendom series. I’m on volume 3 The Climax of Christendom. A few months ago I also read a book on the Knights Templar. And, of course, like Convert1 said, there is nothing like the classics.

Dorothy L. Sayers’ Lord Wimsey mysteries.
Michael O’Brien’s books – currently reading The Island of the World.

“Isaac’s Storm” is excellent - about the hurricane of 1900 that devastated Galveston. That same author penned some other great historical fiction/non-fiction books.

Although they may contain some language, the classic books by Leon Uris, including “Trinity”, “Mila 18”, “Exodus” and other works are wonderful - again, historical fiction (my favorite).
