Dear Brothers and Sisters,

What simple beauty we hear in St. Faustina’s words:
[1365. O Eternal Love, Who enkindle a new life within me, a life of love and of mercy, support me with Your grace, so that I may worthily answer Your call, so that what You Yourself have intended to accomplish in souls through me, might be accomplished.
Saints remind us of our call at baptism. What tremendous potential in every baptized soul! By God’s Grace, let us pray this simple prayer as St. Faustina wrote it for us. God intended to accomplish something beautiful through her, in souls who read her words, or met her, or for whom she was asked to pray.

Jesus, we trust in You. Accomplish in us, O Holy Trinity, Your Will: our holiness!
St. Faustina, pray with us and for us that we may live in union with Eternal Love as Mary and you and all the saints lived on earth!

There is such a richness in all the prayers of Divine Mercy … I have fallen in love with the Litany of Divine Mercy …

Litany of Divine Mercy

Divine Mercy, gushing forth from the bosom of the Father, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, greatest attribute of God, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, incomprehensible mystery, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, fountain gushing forth from the mystery of the Most Blessed Trinity, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, unfathomed by any intellect, human or angelic, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, from which wells forth all life and happiness, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, better than the heavens, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, source of miracles and wonders, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, encompassing the whole universe, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, descending to earth in the Person of the Incarnate Word, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, which flowed out from the open wound of the Heart of Jesus, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, enclosed in the Heart of Jesus for us, and especially for sinners, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, unfathomed in the institution of the Sacred Host, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, in the founding of the Holy Church, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, in our justification through Jesus Christ, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, accompanying us through our whole life, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, embracing us especially at the hour of death, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, endowing us with immortal life, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, accompanying us every moment of our life, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, shielding us from the fire of hell, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, in the conversion of hardened sinners, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, astonishment for Angels, incomprehensible to Saints, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, unfathomed in all the mysteries of God, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, lifting us out of every misery, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, source of our happiness and joy, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, in calling us forth from nothingness to existence, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, embracing all the works of His hands, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, crown of all Gods handiwork, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, in which we are all immersed, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, sweet relief for anguished hearts, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, only hope of despairing souls, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, repose of hearts, peace amidst fear, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, delight and ecstasy of holy souls, I trust in You
Divine Mercy, inspiring hope against all hope, I trust in You

Prayer:
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

Thanks dear Katherine,

Indeed, it was good to pray this Litany, just now, reminding myself of all the beauty and the greatness of God’s Love. How I thank Him for appearing to St. Faustina and giving her those words to pray and to share with all of us: “Jesus, I trust in You!” Thanks for posting the Litany today.

How truly God is working through St. Faustina! She has been blessed even as we have been blessed to be a blessing for others! 🙂 I wonder how many others prayed this Litany after you posted it. Hopefully there were many.

Thank you MariaChristi … I try to remember the 3 o’clock hour each day with our Lord … and I use the prayers from the Divine Mercy … there is the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, the Divine Mercy Stations of the Cross and this Litany … I pray this Litany on this board when I pray for people in the prayer intentions section of the board … and I pray that it brings solace to those in need … I thank Jesus that He gave us St. Faustina and her diary and prayers … and I thank you for making this thread where we could share some of the wisdom that she received from our Lord.

Dear Katherine,

Thanks for your reply. I was so impressed by that last entry in St. Faustina’s Diary because it is an encouragement to know that just as God intended (and we see can see the evidence of His intention being accomplished) that souls be blessed through St. Faustina, He intends this also for all His children in various ways. Each of us is intended to build up the Body of Christ in Love, by the power of His Holy Spirit (cf Ephesians 4). I believe the Holy Spirit inspired St. Faustina with words to write for our sake, as well as her own. We are blessed not only that we ourselves become holy, but also in order to be a blessing for others ALL are called to holiness.

We may not see our own fruitfulness on this earth, but we can trust in God’s Word which is True and in His Love which endures forever. Let us by God’s Grace, pray with St. Faustina her simple plea:
O Eternal Love, Who enkindle a new life within me, a life of love and of mercy, support me with Your grace, so that I may worthily answer Your call, so that what You Yourself have intended to accomplish in souls through me, might be accomplished.

Jesus asked that people remember him at 3 o’clock … so many people are too busy for the prayers that I say, but that smaller prayer that you quoted from St. Faustina would be wonderful to remember at 3 o’clock each day.

Dear Katherine,

Thanks again for your reply, I’ve decided to copy that little prayer into my Liturgy of the Hours book. My husband and I pray the Liturgy of the Hours, Morning Prayer each day, and I usually have a few moments before we begin to collect my thoughts. I pray best early in the day. 🙂

It is difficult for many persons to stop at a particular time in the day, each day – most of us have pretty unpredictable schedules,-- but I am happy that sometimes many of us are able to stop and pray the Divine Mercy prayers at 3 PM or simply to stop whatever we may be doing and think of Jesus dying on the Cross for us at that time.

It is such a special time to remember how much He suffered and loved us to the end.

I am lucky in that regard … I am disabled and home all the time … so I should be able to do the prayers at 3 … but even with being home all the time today I looked up and it was already 3:30 … so not even I can handle the scheduling, and I should be able to … have to work harder at it.

We can also think of it this way – God is eternal and beyond time. He is always present to us in an “eternal now”. The time of 3 pm is good for us to remember that is why Jesus asked us to remember Him at that hour, but if we forget, He understands all our limitations. I believe God looks on us with great tenderness, whenever we remember Him! He never forgets us, He watches over us with great care always.
