I have a non-Catholic friend that wanted to know about the Book of Enoch (spelling?). I could not find it in my Bible, though I am sure that I have heard it at Mass and even read it. Can anyone help me out?

It’s non-Scriptural, but Peter, Jude, and Paul all reference it to some degree. It’s interesting, and it explains a bit about what led to the Flood, but it’s not considered to be part of the Bible by most Christians (I think that the Ethiopian Orthodox might be an exception). Whatever it’s worth, the Apostles were familiar with it and used lessons from it in their writings, such as the unforgiven angels being locked in darkness, and women dressing modestly in church so as not to attract the lust of angels.

Perhaps the church needs to rethink this one it would be a nice text to read for some of the young ladies I see showing way to much flesh during mass of places.

I seem to remember the Book of Wisdom references it several times…
