Enrollment in Brown Scapular

I was wondering if it would be a mortal sin to be enrolled in the brown scapular tonight? (the reason I’m asking is, I committed a mortal sin. so I was wondering if this would be another sin?) Should I go and be enrolled tonight? I’m also in the state of perfect contrition and intend to go to confession on Friday. Thanks! GBU!

I don’t believe to be enrolled in the scapular while in mortal sin would be sinful, but maybe the oriest can hear your confession before he enrolls you in the scapular?

Go ahead with the investiture… you need not be in a state of grace to be enrolled, to my knowledge. But it would be a mighty GOOD idea to ask for reconciliation beforehand, I would think! No use being in a state of mortal sin when you’ve a priest handy!

Get thee to confession, ASAP !

It’s probably OK to get enrolled (I am not a priest), if you’re not able to make it to confession beforehand.

Great choice of a day to be enrolled

My wife was enrolled on this day a few years ago, as her RCIA did not afford her the opportunity to be enrolled in the brown scapular.
