The Finnish environmental guru Pentti Linkola argues that the earth is a sinking ship, and a chosen remant must head to the lifeboats. “Those who hate life try to pull more people on board and drown everybody. Those who love and respect life use axes to chop off the extra hands hanging on the gunwale.”
These nominally “fringe” ideas have saturated the mainstream. “Us [sic] Homo sapiens are turning out to be as destructive a force as any asteroid,” proclaimed the Today Show’s Matt Lauer in a TV special. “The stark reality is that there are simply too many of us. And we cosnume way too much… The solutions are not a secret: control population, recycle…”

I’m just no great fan of human nature in general…
It’s funny how the most lovable of all human beings, the ones uncorrupted by evil… the most innocent of all… the unborn… are the ones society seems to hate…
