I am inquiring into orthodoxy and I wonder do the orthodox believe that we are justified in an imputed righteousness or an infused/imparted righteousness? Is justification a one time event or lifelong process equivalent to sanctification for you guys?
I am also told that Orthodoxy condemned 5 point Calvinism at the council of Jerusalem. Is this true?

As I understand it, the Orthodox are like the Catholics on this point: you are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. This faith is “worked out” (Phil 2:12).

The difference between Christianity (i.e, Orthodoxy and Catholicism) and Judaism is that Jews have faith in the Law, not the Lord. Both practise the Law, insomuch as they have faith in the Lord God.

Protestantism differs from Christianity in that, while Protestants have faith in God, they believe one cannot both work in the Law - which God Himself made - and have faith in the God who made the Law.

This is incorrect. Many protestants believe that they are saved by faith alone and good works are the product of that faith. All you have to do is see them (especially evangelicals) stand against abortion and homosexuality to know that they believe they must work within the law of God.

I am quite sure the Orthodox position on justification is almost identical to ours and far, far away from the grave error of imputed righteousness, etc. To check out the official Catholic doctrine, you can read this document. Hopefully soon we’ll hear from some of our Orthodox brothers.
