I am reading the daily reflection from the Manificat monthly subscription, and the passage from yesterday is:
Ephesians 2: 8-10
by grace you have been saved through faith,m and this is not from you; it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so no one may boast. For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jsus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live with them.
Clearly, grace and faith are the gifts from God. Does the part “it is not from works” is used to emphasize the gifts? Are there any non-Catholic using this passage to say “faith alone”? and how we reply to the non-Catholic on this passage within context?
