For the past few months, I’ve had this very painful condition. I’ve seen several doctors, gone through all kinds of tests, and been treated for infections even though none showed up. I’m also celibate, so it’s not from an STD.

Anyway, I recently went to a specialist, who told me that I likely have some kind of “back-up” for which the only cure is to let the “system clean itself out.” He told me that this could take a while, but suggested that masturbating could help things along.

Obviously, to do so would be a sin regardless of whether it fixes the problem or not. So I don’t plan on doing it (thanks be to God, I escaped that vice almost a year ago!).

But I’m just wondering if any of the other guys out there in the fora have ever had similar experiences and have any suggestions. I’m also wondering if this sort of thing happens to other men who remain celibate and do not masturbate for long periods of time. I’d imagine some priests must go through it if they’re unfortunate enough to have said “back up” and no means of flushing it out.

Sorry if this is miscategorized, but I wasn’t sure where else to put it.
