The ordination of a new Episcopalian bishop in Alaska, originally scheduled to take place in a Catholic parish church, has been re-scheduled for a nearby Methodist church—apparently in response to protests from concerned Catholics.

👍👍

The fact that this was Episcopal, with their similar language about priests, bishops, etc. made the whole thing an oportunity for confusion.

From what I can gather from reading the article, there were no hard feelings and that in itself is a positive piece of news.

why would a CC would allow something that is condemned by the Church to take place inside teh Church is beyond me. what in the world is going with the Church?

this is sacrilege and a scandal to Catholics. what else is a Catholic to accept from heretical religions?

I’m with you!

Thanks be to God and the Archbishop of Anchorage. It would have been a horrible scandal to have a pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-gay ordination woman “bishop” dressed in episcopal vestments and presiding from a consecrated Altar in a Catholic parish, at the least, fodder for our own “Catholics” that continue to agitate for women’s ordination.

It is funny how this arfticle insist on saying that is martin luther teachings. it is not, it is the teachings of the CC. against abortion contraception are the teachings of the CC and not of ML.

This begs the question of why these heretics wanted to use a catholic worship place to begin with? they must know they would be doing something that causes scandal to our faith. me thinks that there is more going on behind the scene. perhaps there were accomplices at Our Lady of Guatemala parish in Anchorage.

i probably should write a letter of support and gratitude to the archbishop. i wonder if the vatican got involved.

This developing situation has been monitored for some time, by an Alaskan blog called “Defend Us in Battle.”

The guys running the blog are urging us to email the archbishop in support of his decision.

This seems like a very good idea. They (reasonably) believe that the archbishop might take some heat from non-Catholic sources. It would be good if the archbishop knew he had our support and our prayers.

You can find the archbishop’s email address at the blog post I listed above. And I recommend reading the blog post - it is good.

However, if you want to cut things short, you can go to the archdiocese website to send an email:
archdioceseofanchorage.org/about/chancery/index.html
(just click on the archbishop’s name)

It seems that non Catholics simply assume that they are running the CC. that the CC must do as they say. this false ecumenism is really working.
