First of all, I do not appreciate being called “God Holly”. I was not in any way, shape, or form acting as though I were God. I would never do such a thing. Second of all, I was not condemning the Episcopal church to hell. “Going to hell in a hand basket” is a figure of speech which is just another way of saying that the Episcopal church is headed towards disaster without effort or in great haste. And the fact is, they are headed to disaster in great haste. Also, you must not know me very well at all if you think that I would condemn anyone or especially an entire church to hell. I am not God. I would not dare try to do something that is only appropriate for God to do. I, however, wish to apologize to you if I have offended you somehow (which it seems that I have). It was not my intention to offend. That said, an apology on your part would also be nice.
Holly, I used quotation marks exactly for that reason as I did not consider you a god. So by all means if I offended you which I seem to have as well, then I certainly apologize. I was unfamiliar with such a figure of speech and to me then it sounded as if you were judging TEC to hell. You didn’t offend me personally. It’s just I do my best not to judge others though sometimes certainly fail the human that I am. And I think we simply misunderstood each other. Neither was it my intent to offend. God bless you and Peace.

Just wondering why this thread was started when an identical thread covering this subject has already been posted and is active?

nonjudgmental tolerance and acceptance for all but conservatives that is. and one could argue, that they are moving in a direction of appeasing the world and seeking friendship with such. i agree with gamewell CMatt, maybe the the more conservative members should leave this communion. i know the Catholic Church would accept them with open arms. also our liberals could leave the Catholic Church and go to their communion. and practice their open loving tolerant nonjudgmental brand of christianity, that leads to the ruin of many. just read corinthians. next they will be saying incest is ok. how non judgemental should we be my friend?
You might have more knowledge than I of the inner workings of TEC. But my perspective is you are welcome in TEC. The conservatives are not being asked to leave. Liberal Catholics on the otherhand are practically being pushed out the door. Or at least conservatives are attempting to push us out.

As to how non judgemental should we strive to be? For your answer I direct you to Matt 7:1-5; Romans 14:13; and 1Cor 4:5 Peace.

Either way I think in this instance you were really off base in suggesting what you did in your original response to my post. No one is-as you put it–clambering to have homosexuals to be running the church; rather we happen to have a few leaders who happen to be homosexual. Its no biggie.
:amen: And probably not the only church which has a few leaders who happen to be.

No, it should not matter at all to Christians outside TEC whether or not that particular church body is placing the immortal souls of its members in danger through heretical teachings,
Tell me, would you have an issue if TEC condemned Baptist beliefs?

wow fantom. i may disagree with you on some things. but apparently this is not one of them :Dpeace:)

What works for the Episcopal Church may not work for you; it may also be one reason why your not a member of it. It may not work for some Episcopalians and as mentioned in an earlier post here, the Catholic Church has made accommodations for them and likewise TEC is more then happy to have the liberal Catholics join our church (and some have) if they so desire. I don’t think it should be much of a concern for anyone outside of TEC where we are headed in the big picture of things.
from what ive heard they are actually actively looking to promote more. it makes it an activist agenda. so yes, they are clammering (will have to look how to spell this word) to promote active homosexuals to run the church. if i offended you earlier i do apologize. but i still must ask. where would you as a liberal draw the line? its a legitamate question. would you be in favor of promoting people who are living a polygamist lifestyle? since the biblical example i used was too offensive for you, i will go with this one. Peace 🙂

you are correct. the conservatives are not being asked to leave. they are simply being shouted down, and out voted to the point where they have no choice but to leave. l do not understand why liberal Catholics are attempting to bring such harmful practices to the Catholic Church. why not leave? the Church is not going to change to suit you. i have had to conform my views to the Church. to do otherwise puts you at odds with the magesterium, and you have in effect become a protestant. so by all means, feel free to leave or conform to doctrine. your choice. im a convert to Catholocism. i for one will fight tooth and nail to keep the liberal agenda out of the Church. people like yourself, almost convince me to join the priesthood, so one less renegade is out their. God bless his Bride. the Holy Catholic Church. which shall be presented to him, without spot or blemish. Peace 🙂

You’ve heard rumors that “they are actually actively looking to promote more”? To me it sounds like heresay. So I can’t put much credibility into what your saying.

Unfortunately since I’m not a liberal nor am I a conservative, I can’t tell you where i draw the line. It would depend on the issue for me.

As far as your question regarding polygamy, I take no position on it either way.

and that my friend, is the answer i was expecting:D thank you. i could take this further, but your answer speaks for itself. peace 🙂

Benidict, I will pray for your disernment if you’d like. And as you pray and ponder whether God is leading you to the priesthood if need be I can also provide you with links to Church teaching about how Baptism imprints an indelible character onto one’s soul with a permanent bond of belonging to the Church not lost by any act. God bless you in your journey and peace.

and i thank you for your prayers my friend. i also agree that baptism imprints an indelible character on ones soul. but my friend. if we see a brother/sister getting ready to jump off a cliff, or ignore warning signs against walking into a mine field, should we not do all in our power to pull them back from the edge, or warn them against a descision that could very well have eternal consequences? Peace to you and yours.🙂

Well, I’m certainly glad I didn’t disappoint you then! 🙂
no my friend, its kind of hard to disappoint someone who is used to it… 11 years trucking, and 2 years now in the military. 😃 you do learn to live with it 😉 however, can we agree that we are our brothers/sisters keeper? peace 🙂
