I want to transition from the Episcopal Church to the Catholic Church. I’ve read that this is possible but it seems it only applies to large groups. I’ve known since I was 12 years old that I belonged in the Catholic Church so hopefully this is a good time for me. Can you tell me what the process is? i’ve contacted the local Catholic Church and will begin classes on 17th October. Will I have to be rebaptized? Will I be able to participate in the Sacraments eg. Communion sooner than other converts?👍

Hi,

Even groups of Anglicans who enter the Catholic Church are required to go through a period of instruction to maker sure they understand the teachings of the Catholic Church. So you as an individual are required to do the same. You do not have to be re-baptized. But you are required to go through the regular instruction period before partaking of the other sacraments.

Congratulations and welcome home!
