I do not understand why a man and woman would jeopardize a great friendship to officially date and take upon themselves the temptations and problems that go with a man and woman being together. Yet something can develop that is deeper and might make it worth it. Is that romantic love? A love that seeks something much more transcendentally present than simple friendship. I have had girl friends and never officially dated anyone and will not until providence says this is the one. Free will will only screw up things. Can someone explain what Catholics should be looking for in love according to philosophy? Perhaps epistemeologic wise and/or metaphysically?
