As a comment on this it is also true that the desire for revenge leading to killing, child killing and rape are all perfectly natural and all frequently occur in the animal kingdom.

That behaviour is A) natural and B) occur in the animal world are both totally worthless points to make in defining what is or is not moral.
Even if you believe that masturbation is immoral your examples are immorality projected onto others while masturbation is only onto the self. And what if it is unreleased sexual energy that is responsible for such atrocities? Men must eat, but is it not better to go to grocery shopping then to tear limbs off living creatures? Sex isn’t a requirement of survival, but it is healthy. Hopefully with someone you love.

What on earth are you talking about? The subject is: “erections, sinful or not.” How does one go from erections to murder? Are you actually using a logical fallacy called: Reductio Ad Absurdum? Hmmm, me thinks so!

Blessed be, Dousias

It is not wrong for a male-sexed individual to have an erection nor is it wrong for a male-sexed individual to masturbate. As a transgendered girl who has taken a vow of celibacy, I have a lot of sexual tension. I will confess/admit that, yes, I do masturbate. It is something that is natural to do. I do believe it might not be the best sexual release but I do not believe that God would want me to have severe sexual tension and be unable to function at all. Also, sexual tension is not caused by the fact that I have chosen to live my life as who I truly am. So, do not bring up any preconceived notions, do not even discuss my gender identity. The fact is, masturbation is not wrong if it is to quell an erection or to release sexual tension. If masturbation is just for the heck of it or because you are addicted to it, then that is something that you need serious help with. Also, if you masturbate to the image of a naked human body or the acts of naked human bodies then that is lust and lust is bad.
That’s not what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says. It says mastubation is morally wrong. No excuses.

Purposely masterbating is an action that (I believe) is wrong. If we have done it and not repented, I believe that we should repent and ask God for forgiveness. I have had trouble with this sin very often, but I blame myself for purposely giving into it. . . In secular science, it might be considered natural to masturbate, but in spiritual terms, I choose not to see it this way. The root of Lust is Selfishness. I understand that temptation can be very easy at times, but I see this as a time where we can show loyalty to our Creator and to those who we might otherwise be lusting after. When we lust, we are able to see human beings as “objects of lust,” other than “Creations of the Higher Being.” Eventually, respect for human beings appears to fade, and cognitively, our idea of others becomes twisted and charred into ideas of pleasure rather than true understandings of who “those around us” really are.

is enjoying an erection due to some weird sexual fetish a sin? No lust is involved, ie no desires for sexual intercourse involved. Just enjoying it for the sake of enjoyment.
Sexual pleasure is not just the sexual climax. I would say that if you are not married, you should not be seeking out sexual pleasure or harboring it. That said, there is not a distinct line and its very easy to get hung up on these things. I would say if you find it happening pretty much on its own and are not seeking it out, than you are fine. However I think its very easy to take a very hostile view toward sexual pleasure and that its easy to jump to the opposite extreeme of trying to reject your sexuality as something evil to ward off the temptation to willfully indulge in sexual pleasure outside of marriage.

It’s not a fetish;** its natural.** Believe it or not so is masturbation, as it occurs in the animal kingdom. Your fellow Catholics would say its your responsibility to be better than the other animals.
Eating your young and other cannibilistic behaviours also go on in the animal world.Promiscuity, rape and other wird behaviours which are not even the norm of animal behaviour also exist. It hardly does your argument any good to suggest that just because a behaviour exists in nature that it’s “natural”.
And you don’t need to be a Catholic to try and live and behave a little better than animals.
The truth of the matter is, you have swung from an argument that says because something is in nature then its OK, to then justifying controlling that behaviour by using the rational faculties. You are being contradictory. Animals give in to their urges. Humans have a choice. We call exercising that choice a moral choice. you tell us you don’t know how Catholics do it. Are you suggesting that Catholics are the very best at rationally controlling their animalistic desires and instincts? Surely such discipline is not just the preserve of Catholics?!

So it is a sin to touch your self trying to get an erection but no ejackulating or organum
