Opinions on Eric Metaxas? A friend thought I might like to listen to one of his podcasts.
 
I don’t know him, but according to Wikipedia he wrote some Veggie Tales scripts. 😃
 
I think he’s Episcopal, raised Greek Orthodox, with evangelical leanings. He wrote the book on Bonhoffer a few years back, and he now has a radio show which airs on the Salem Radio Network (here in NYC on AM970 The Answer).

I’ve seen him speak… he’s a bright and thoughtful guy. My wife loved his book.
 
Metaxas (as has been mentioned) wrote a biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer that sold well and got many favorable reviews - from people who don’t know much about Bonhoeffer. Those who are familiar with Bonhoeffer tend to be critical of Metaxas’ book. The usual complaint is that he is “selling” Bonhoeffer to contemporary American evangelicals, trying to show Bonhoeffer in such a light that his ideas and values align with those of his audience, and that he tends to omit things that don’t fit with the portrait he is trying to create.
