I was just reading in Genesis a bit ago and came across this passage…I looked in it for the NAB online and it seemed right there but, here in my NAB (New Catholic Answer Bible Edition) from my RCIA class from earlier this year it was wrong. It’s just a little verse but it is still the Word of God and had me thinking if this verse was wrong, what else could be wrong in this translation? Here’s the verse and would love some (name removed by moderator)ut. God bless.
Genesis 4:18 - (How it is in my Bible) To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad became the father of Mehujael; Mehujael became the father of Metusael, and Methusael became the father of Lamech.
But, according to usccb.org/nab/bible/genesis/genesis4.htm Genesis 4:18 goes like this:
To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad became the father of Mehujael; Mehujael became the father of Methusael, and Methusael became the father of Lamech.
