When I was stressed out a lot… I bought a shower gel and massage lavander oil. It helped me with NOTHING.
But I wouldn’t say I am insensitive to fragrance therapy as a whole. This cosmetic brand has a very expensive cream that is also perfumed in a way that it immediately boosts up my mood no matter how down. It is the entire body of scents in it. Unfortunately I tried it on a tester and it’s very expensive.
So I imagine mixture of oils can work. Maybe the physical benefits come from the mood being positive and then the immune system works better. Something like that.

I like essencial oils,as I also enjoy the scent of lavender or pine from just cleaned floors.
I grow lavender and make little bags for the drawers. I am trying to learn how to make good escencial oil also for scent diffusers.

I also gather eucalyptus leaves and put to boil sometimes in autumn or winter.
And azahares from lemmon trees and citrus in general.

All what comes from nature around me and can be used ,I try to.

The scent of a clean house ,that I really enjoy.
Just a few drops of essencial oil of good quality can turn a room into a pleasant soothing place.
As some recently cut flowers in a flower vase.

I was appalled the MLM leader would insist because their oils are pure, they won’t cause negative interactions. 😡
Unfortunately that is not surprising at all…That ridiculous “certified therapeutic grade” title is nothing more than something they (the company) made up! There is no FDA oversight among herbal supplements, including EOs…how people canNOT understand that these things are chemical is mind boggling. Heck, even water is a chemical…don’t drink too much dihydrogen monoxoide…it can cause electrolyte imbalance lol!

Wintergreen should also not be used by people on blood thinners…peppermint shouldn’t be used by children under 2-3 yrs old…the list goes on. EOs are chemicals and should be used cautiously, but b/c they’re “natural” that seems to be ignored.

However, some essential oils trigger allergies in certain people, so use carefully.
Thank you so much for saying that. Essential oils for the most part do not bother me and have used them myself but other scents in the air such as from candle warmers and perfumes can make me extremely ill.

My advice to those who use the Essential oils or anything else to make a room smell good is to remember just because the aroma is pleasing to you it may not be pleasing to someone else.

It may help to open door and window to ventilate the house daily or a couple of times a week. We do not live in artificially air conditioned or heated places. It is too expensive for us,not common at all. That may may make a difference in terms of allergies. Since waterever scent we use,is renewed by fresh air. Some ventilation daily renews the air of the environment around us. No mould either. And it doesn t linger in fabrics

Some can be dangerous and some smell good. Be sure to research on sites that are not run by eo companies.

I use a small number of essential oils (I use Young Living brand mostly):

I love lavender on burns, cuts, etc. I also find it very soothing.

I use Tea tree oil in scalp and skin products. Also good for skin abrasions and anti-microbal applications.

I love lemon oil for cleaning. Smells great.

Love peppermint for upset stomachs (must be food grade EO), sinus pressure, headaches, etc.

Rosemary and Eucalyptus diffused works wonders during cold season (and much more tolerable than Vick’s).

I’m not an alternative medicine junky, but home remedies have been around for centuries. They aren’t all bunk.

I’m not all that into them, but I’m not opposed to them either. I think they can have benefits for certain ailments, but shouldn’t be used as a replacement for a doctor’s care.

My thing is mostly lighting scented candles to help me relax, or to just have a pretty scent put my mind more at ease or make me feel happy.

graphite only for locks
How often have my words been lost on the wind my blooded knees from begging pleas been ignored, but now I hear the echo of my thoughts, sweet words return like doves, welcome home…

Me too. Always and forever. 🙂

Its a subtle truth that can only be learnt late in life…like much of Catholicism …cannot put old heads on young shoulders etc etc 😆😆

Every bit helps said the old woman as she p**ed in the sea (a saying of my mother).

I’m not convinced that essential oils will make you calm and happy. I just use scented oil to make my own room spray.

I like Pine, Cedar, Citrus, and Frankincense. I use them in my cleaning water when I wipe tables and counters.
