I just read the book of Esther and thought of Mary the Entire time. there are so many parallels with Esther and Mary. Her favor with the King and also her intercession for her people.

anyone else feel this way?

Yes. And your post has inspired me to read the book of Esther again, as it’s been awhile.

Definitely. St. Alphonsus de Liguori goes into such parallels in his book “The Glories of Mary” in which he draws upon the writings of several saints, mystics, and theologians.

Weren’t some parts of Esther also deleted? As well as parts of Daniel and some others? Or am I mistaken about that?
Protestants removed the non-Hebrew portions of Esther. They use the same version that the Jews use. Apostolic Christians use the version that has Hebrew and Greek portions together.

Peace and God bless!

Esther is my favorite of the OT stories:)

Parts of Esther are deuterocanonical. Many protestants choose to leave out the deuterocanon.
