I’m wondering if I can find the reference to the eternal rest prayer in the Canon of Scripture?
If I can’t that’s ok, I did some research and it’s bit out of my league to fully understand.

The reference in my missal reads: cf. 4 Esdr 2:43-35.

4 Esdras 2:34-35

"Therefore I say to you, O nations that hear and understand, “Await your shepherd; he will give you everlasting rest, because he who will come at the end of the age is close at hand.
Be ready for the rewards of the kingdom, because the eternal light will shine upon you for evermore.”

To read 2/4 Esdras itself:

(Note: 4 Esdras is also known as 2 Esdras or Latin Esdras/Ezra)

To learn more about 4 Esdras (it is not canonical, it is Apocryphal):
