Yes, this person in the experiment does not need the Porsche car, he wants it. It would be better of course, if he uses the money for something for meaningful. But the question is would it be wrong at all to spend it on himself for “status, luxury, vanity” knowing that lives will be lost because of his choice?
That is ridiculous. How could anyone know such a thing.

That’s fine. My point was why don’t you just state what you think/ your position rather than asking me whether I have more than one tv. How does that got to do with anything?
I’m open to new ideas and aspects of thinking. So I’d love to hear your point of view.

To be honest, I’m regret even replying. I don’t get into debates online anymore because they are waste of my time. I don’t really want to have a “discussion”, whether amicable or not, nor do I want to debate the merits, or argue. Generally, even if people do it civilly, people talk at each other. I’m honestly done with that. No one is out to change their own view or really listen or say, “that other person might have a point I might consider”. I pointed out what I thought was a gap in your premise and logic and I don’t want to sit here at my computer and spell it out for you because I have better things to do, but ultimately I fell to the temptation. I regret it. Especially since I have to type this email, which I’m sure will get a response bated for an additional response. There will be none.

It’s in the OP.
This quantity of nets would save many lives and prevent even more people from getting seriously ill.
It is assumed, for the sake of this hypothetical ethical scenario, that you would definitely be saving lives by foregoing the Porsche.

Hello.

I need more information before I answer the poll. How large is the large sum of money? What’s my state in life? Is there anything else I feel from prayer and my conscience that God is calling me to? Are mosquito nets in Africa the only current need in the world?
